Tatiana Mazú González
Buenos Aires, 1989. She lives on the outskirts of the city among cats and plants, in what used to be her grandmother’s house. She’s a documentary-experimental director and visual artist. Left-wing and feminist activist who once wanted to be a biologist or geographer: today her imaginary explores the links between people and spaces, the microscopic and the immense, the personal and the political, the childish and the dark. Films, photographs, draws, designs and sews.
Together with Joaquín Maito, she co-directed The State of Things (2012). Her short film The International (2015) participated in 40 international festivals. Little Red Riding Hood (2019) is her first lenght feature film. Río Turbio (2020), her second film, has it World Premiere in the International Competition of FIDMarseille ((Prix Georges de Beauregard 2020). She was part of Silbando Bembas, a militant film collective.
Her films have been selected at FID Marseille, Mar del Plata International Film Fest, FICUNAM, Doc Lisboa, Festifreak, Transcinema, Cinélatino . Rencontres de Toulouse, SEMINCI, Cámara Lúcida, FICICosquín, Festival Cinematográfico del Uruguay, FIDOCS, Antofacine, FICC Iquique, AricaDoc, MIDBO, among others.
She participated in 2015 in Berlinale Talents BA.
She has received support to make his films for the Biennial of Young Art of Buenos Aires, BoliviaLAB, AcampaDOC Labex, Aché-DocLisboa, Migrant Film Festival, INCAA – National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, Cultural Patronage of BsAs and National University of the arts.
She’s coeditor together with Manuel Embalse of Owner’s Portrait by Joaquín Maito (Best Debut Film at IDFF Ji.hlava 2018).
Currently, she’s working on her next films: Every document of Civilization and God the author of everything – directed together with Joaquín Maito and Nacho Losada-.
