Nacho Losada

Nacho Losada is a screenwriter, producer, and director. Since he was a child, he preferred to spend his afternoons deconstructing video game narratives, watching movies, building computers, and absorbing as much information as he could about robotics. His questions from long ago are more relevant than ever: today he researches the links between machines and people, cell phones as bodily extensions, artificial intelligence, and its application in new narratives.

He directed the short film 9:32 (2019) and the feature-length documentary Pelota Pulpo (2018). He is the producer of Fire in the sea (2022) by Sebastián Zanzottera, which had its international premiere at Visions Du Réel; Argirópolis (2022) by Stefano Strochi, which had its world premiere at Bafici; and Every document of civilization (2024) by Tatiana Mazú González, which premiered at FidMarseille and received the Georges de Beauregard International Award.

He participated in Talents Buenos Aires 2018 and the Biennial of Young Art in 2022.

His films have been selected for Visions du réel, FidMarseille, Mar del Plata International Film Festival, Bafici, Festifreak, Documenta Madrid, Ficunam, Jeonju, MIDBO, FicValdivia, FicViña, and Atemporal, among others.

He has received support for his films from Arché-DocLisboa, INCAA – National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts, Corriente No ficción, and Mecenazgo Cultural de BsAs.

He is currently working as a producer on Sebastián Zanzottera’s upcoming project, Brick smoke, and is also the producer of Francisco Bouzas’ Handycam. As a director, he is developing Digital Memory about life in the metaverse.
