I discovered cinema through a handycam. Decades after my first images, I decided to give the camera to Alexis, 24, and her cousin Tati, 11. In their hands, the handycam becomes a mirror and a window to a world in transformation. In the slum Ciudad Oculta, the desires and risks of a restless youth find in the complicity of an obsolete camera the possibility of telling their stories. With a pandemic in the background, the handycam passes from hand to hand capturing the beauty and vertigo of its last images.
